Underwater Photography

Christy Rogers work is dark but still has muted bright pops of color. It is very swirled together and doesnt have a distinct shape unless you look at it closely. Its very abstract and beautiful. The pictures look aged but are brightened up with the pops of color. They all have human figures somewhere in them.

How has her work been described by other critics?
Her work has been described as timeless but still contemporary, with contrast of dark and light. It was also described as dreamy on the surface but underneath are sjharp and contorted figures and shapes.

Other underwater photos:

I love this photo because of the distinct shapes of the dress, and how the lighting is directly on the model. It is sharp but still faded.

I like this picture because of all the bright colors and how the pink constrasts the blue. I also like the rippled reflection of the mofel above her, it shows 2 different views.

I like the dark coloring of this photo, but how it has distinct lines of light going across his body. I also like how the light centers on his hand then gets darker and darker away from his hands.

Ideas for my shoot:

  • Action figures or dolls
  • bright colored flowers
  • different collored marbles
  • food packaging
  • food coloring swirls
